Librarianaught Inception
Call them patrons, customers, constituents, members, or whatever you like: they pay the bills, yet they are much more. They provide gifts of gratification for the humble servant. Treat them well, like they matter while they are at the tangible or intangible library. They do matter. They should matter. They are the lifeblooad of all discursive connections and myths that enrich life. Learn new things and teach those things to them. Stoop down for them. Jump high for them. If the thought occurs that an inquiry or task does not fall within your responsibilities, chances are that it is more important toward escaping the confines of 'the stacks' than you could ever imagine. This is the way of the Librarianaught.
