We are all owners and authors. We are a Creative Commons. The multiverse of knowledge grows and changes every millisecond through forums and mashups--the electronic version of in-person conversations that have existed all along. Those who claim to be individual originators ignore their dependence on the information created and refined by others. These same creators sequester cultural knowledge for greed, using "intellectual property" as a justification. This is akin to Neil Armstrong claiming that he created the moon. The event horizon of Digital Rights Management, as a hyper-manifestation of intellectual property copyright, will only drag down those who gravitate toward it. Information is boundless. Gravity cannot collapse it. Can you cage a star or charge for access to viewing a constellation? With the help of others, you can take the base matter of a star and form wonderful things like movies, video games, and...yes...even books.
